Last year I totally failed when it came to reading. The fact is that I’m just not that big of a reader but I always hope that maybe one day will be.
This year I am hoping to finish 5 books. They are as follows:
The Thank You Economy – Gary Vaynerchuk
This is the second book by Gary Vaynerchuk and I must say that his first one, Crush It, was an amazing read that I happened to finish on my way home from Florida over the Thanksgiving break. Now, even though I don’t own a business where I sell products, I still think this book would be good for me.
From what I’ve read, this book is about how businesses have to come up with more creative ways to thank their customers. From buying a new customer the jersey of their favorite football player to simply writing them a thank-you note, the follow through is everything.
The Hunger Games – Suzanne Collins
Although this isn’t a business book, I’ve been hearing great thing about this one. I guess it has to be somewhat good because they are making a movie on it.
Here’s the synopsis from Amazon:
Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, “The Hunger Games.” The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When Kat’s sister is chosen by lottery, Kat steps up to go in her place.

The 4 Hour Workweek – Tim Ferris
I actually kind of feel bad for not reading this yet. Tim Ferris is someone I have heard about through the now off-air Diggnation and The Random Show, a web show that Kevin Rose does with Tim.
At 416 pages, this may take a while to read, but I think I can knock it out by the end of the year.

EntreLeadership – Dave Ramsey
Being a fan of Dave’s for about two years now, and since just recently seeing him live in Houston, I have been excited to start on this book. In EntreLeadership, Dave tells the story of how he built up his media company into what it is today and he also talks about what kind of a leader an entrepreneurs should be.
